Screen Research ClearPix2 - Acoustically Transparent Screen - October 2nd, 2008

ClearPix2 by Screen Research  does not compromise picture or sound quality. You can place speakers behind its acoustically transparent fabric with no performance penalty, and create a bespoke home cinema with all front speakers out of sight. The centre speaker can now be placed at the optimum location, behind the screen. Having the centre speaker at the same height like the left and right, ensures homogenous sound effects and overall coherent sound localisation of the dialogues.

Screen Research ClearPix2 screens allow you to enjoy vivid, moire-free images, a common problem for most acoustically transparent screens. In most discrete home cinema installations, hiding the speakers has always been the biggest challenge. ClearPix 2 uses a patented structure that is optimised for a perfect acoustical transparency. There is no need for equalisation and Screen Research has become the frame of reference.

The following diagram demonstrates the frequency response obtained at a speaker located 1 meter on axis. The black trace is the response with the ClearPix2 fabric placed in front of the loudspeaker, and the red trace represents the response with the screen material removed.
