Artcoustic Spitfire Subwoofer - November 3rd, 2008
Artcoustic’s Spitfire subwoofer offers the ultimate bass performance. It offers awesome low frequency reproduction with a dynamic, powerful and controlled presence, down to the lowest of frequencies. The Spitfire must be one of the best home cinema subwoofers on the market today. Employing no less than four 10″ long-throw woofers that can play right down to 15 Hz.
The Artcoustic Spitfire subwoofer is ideal for use in hi-end dedicated home cinema installations where sound quality is paramount, ensuring a tremendous experience. Its high power handling and extremely low distortion will produce reference levels in most home cinemas. Multiple Spitfire subwoofers can of course be used in larger home cinema systems. The subwoofers are usually placed behind the acoustically transparent screen, along with the three front home cinema speakers. The subwoofer’s shallow depth leaves as much space possible in the room for the seating layout; a definite bonus for these smaller sized cinema rooms.
The Spitfire comes paired with Artcoustic’s professional multi-purpose power amplifier, PA-1800. The PA-1800 is an excellent match for the subwoofer’s tonality, offering amazing accuracy and detail. The power amplifier offers 3 channels of power with a total of 1500 watts. Two of the channels can be used to drive the front left and right speakers, leaving the 700 watt mono-block for the subwoofer alone. One thing is for sure; in a dedicated home cinema system you can never have enough power…
The Artcoustic Spitfire subwoofer is as close to recreating a fine home cinema system as you’ll find.
